New album available now

Our new album “Meta Overman & Margaret Sutherland: Preserving the Music of Australian Women Composers” was recently released through Wirripang, and is available for sale in physical and digital formats, as well as on streaming platforms.

The album includes never-before recorded works by Australian/Dutch composer Meta Overman (1907-1993), and the “matriarch” of Australian composition, Margaret Sutherland (1897-1984), including her long-lost Quartet in G minor (“House Quartet”) which was recently reconstructed and published by Dr Jeanell Carrigan.

After performing these works last year, we were fortunate to be supported in our recording project by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, their principal arts investment and advisory body.

These recordings preserve an important part of Australia’s musical heritage, bringing this music to a new generation of audiences, and redressing the lack of equity afforded to women composers in the 20th century.

A second album, featuring works for woodwinds and piano will be recorded later this year and released in 2026, and we’ll be celebrating both of these releases with concerts in Sydney and regional NSW in coming months.
